Farran History

After King David of Killoughy began implementing the Classic Farran Age structure of rulership, many people followed suit and declared their own Kingdoms in lands surrounding Farran. As a man who lived through previous rulings of Great-High-Pure Class Kings before the Modern Farran Age, Éamon de Valera knew what power the ruler of Farran could have. Therefore, he decided to come back from the dead in the form of a Farran ghost or "Ghosht." His plan was to overthrow King David and use the position of King o' Farran to finally get the British out of the North. He launched an attack on Offaly House where the royal family live, but was fought off by Big Jim, father of King Dave. Once Big Jim got the Ghosht past the border, he was able to cast a spell which protected Farran from a Ghosht entering its boundary. While the spell would normally be permanent, Big Jim sneezed as he cast it and, unbeknownst to anyone present (including both Dev and Big Jim), this meant that the spell would actually only last a year, according to Ancient Farran Fysics.

Because much lore of Farran has been lost since the Classic Age, many believed that Ghosht Dev simply ceased to exist once he was chased off. However, any spirit who comes back as a Ghosht may not return to death until the task they set out for themselves has been fulfilled. As Dev didn't succeed in becoming King of Farran, he instead went into hiding in Kilcrea, forming a settlement in the Abbey located there.

Conflict With Alano Sullivano and King Breen

A few months after Dev's attempted raid on the Farran capital, Alano Sullivano and King Breen were wandering through Dead Land (see: Structure of Land) near Aherla with their mutual friend Mad Dog. In the process of scouting areas to conquer in the name King David for the King's birthday, they came across Kilcrea Abbey. The three men entered the grounds and were immediately stopped by Ghosht Dev and his Ghosht army who had been in hiding since the Farran attack. The three were driven out of Kilcrea and Dev then declared the borders of Kilcrea, creating the first Kingdom run and occupied only by Ghoshts. To this day, Ballygroman Empire and the Kingdom of Ovens are at war with Kilcrea.
